If you have a suggestion for a particular subject to be covered in a new class, please post it here or contact any officer of the MSEMA.

Once the substation course is offered and depending on the number of folks who sign up for it you will have some problems. #1- Classroom not big enough. Good one to have. Allocate more space next year. #2- Basic fundamentals too boring for some. Another good problem to have. If there are more than ~37 signed up then consider next year to split the course between a basic class and an advanced class. #3- Some "true" metermen do not consider substation as part of the meter world. Got news, every substation should have a meter to measure the load. Should be an LP type and record not only 15 min kW but also volt and amps. These engineering values come in real handy when figuring station load and operating troubles. Also in many of the smaller cities and co-ops the meterman pulls extra duty as substation tech. #4- Once the substation courses get established, the locations will become too small as more attendees come which will draw in more vendors, more distrubors, more engineers, and more tech reps. What a vicious cycle, oh my. Good luck and Lord willing I shall ee first hand what you folks do. Brooks (meterdata. PS Tell Randy Riley he still owes me lunch.
